‘Grace’ Stay-On Baby Shoe
Think dappled sunlight, wildflower meadows, picnic blankets and rosy-cheeked babies. This was the inspiration behind these beautiful stay-on baby shoes. Technical Detail
The pattern has been technically edited, you will practise yarn overs, 3 stitch decreases, provisional cast on, knitting in the round and Kitchener stitch. There are photo tutorials for all of the techniques plus photo and video stitch guides. The pattern has no seams and minimal finishing. Blocking is essential to relax the lace and give a professional finish.

US 3/3.25mm double pointed needles OR 2 lots of 3.25mm 32in/80cm circular needles for magic loop method.

This pattern requires soft elastic for ankle casing.

The pattern was designed using a DK weight yarn. When choosing your yarn look for a rough gauge of 22 stitches, 30 rows to 10cm. Ball weight examples would be 50g (1.75oz) to a length of105m (115yds).

- 6 wks to 3 mths, UK-0 / US-1, length 10cm
- 3-6 mths, UK-1 / US-2, length 11cm
- 6-9 mths, UK-2 / US-3, length 12cm
- 9-12 mths, UK-3 / US-4, length 12.5cm
The fit is aimed at the upper-end size and age. For example, a 3-6 month shoe size is worked out on lengths and proportions of a standard 6 month foot.
